About the Event

Dear Community Members and friends of the Filipino Indian Community.                 

The year 2009 is a major milestone for both India and the Philippines. It marks 60 years of fruitful and harmonious diplomatic relations between two nations who had just attained independence in the mid / late 40’s.

To commemorate this, both the Embassy of India and the Indian Chamber of Commerce [Manila] are spearheading a series of activities under the banner “NAMASTE PHILIPPINES, MABUHAY INDIA!”.  For this major undertaking, we have tapped and requested the various community organizations and individuals to assist us in areas of their respective expertise. The involvement of all is of primary importance as this is something that relates to everyone in the Indian community. Leading Filipino personalities who have links with to the community have likewise come forward to assist us.

 We cannot let the year pass without giving it the due importance through events and meaningful recollection of past events. Our past relations have given meaning and established our ties; they will likewise mold our future partnerships.

As the initial activity for 2009, we are organizing a fund raising event on the evening of Sunday, January 25, 2009 to be held at Hall A of SMX Convention center, Mall of Asia. The event will be a musical extravaganza with a Raffle to be the highlight of the evening. Proceeds of the event will be used to fund the other activities for the year and provide for a major charity project (currently planned for “Gawad Kalinga” homes and school houses).

Among the prizes in the raffle are a Honda City MT, 5 motorcycles, and 54 other prizes consisting of laptops, computers, electronic gizmos and a lot more. A musical extravaganza, cocktails / finger food, and a raffle …. all for the cost of just P 2,500.00 per ticket. This promises to be fund raising event where everyone is a winner and no losers; when our efforts will reflect the unity of our community to undertake a major charitable cause.

We shall be blocking 500 prime seats for the early buyers of tickets. We hope you will take advantage of this and book early. Below is a reservation form for the tickets if you wish to commit early. Please fill out and fax the same back to us at the secretariat.
